FINISHING SECRETS…
Preface

The world of finishing has been changing since “Finishing Secrets…”  began as a series of individual articles that were started in 1996 for publication in the newsletter of the North Florida Woodturners. Since then, the original articles have been revised and expanded several times to include additional information, and new articles have been added. Many of the articles have been published in other AAW Chapter Newsletters, two have been published in the “American Woodturner”, Journal of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW), and they have been published on the Wood Central website. They continue to be revised and edited as new products become available and I have had the opportunity to use them.

I have put these articles on my Website to make it easier to keep them current; and these pages are the latest revisions. These pages will also make it possible to expand several of the articles to include pictures. I hope this new version of “Finishing Secrets...” is a useful addition to the information that is available to the woodturner.

All of the finishes that are discussed and described in these articles are as I personally use them. Any preferences and opinions about the various finishes are the result of my experience with them. Others are free to disagree because their experiences may differ.

There is nothing in these articles that is copied from others, and I trust that the reader will treat them as being my personal property. You have my permission to copy any of these pages for your personal use. Please contact me for permission before copying them for publication in any AAW Chapter activity. If you copy this material to make a profit, I will expect to share in your compensation.

Thank you for visiting these pages.
